Board applications are being accepted from members who are interested in shaping the future of the organization. SSCA is a volunteer-driven organization and members have opportunity as board members to help determine such things as policy decisions, programming, gams, boat show participation, and website/media presence.
Board terms are for three years and board members communicate by email, conference calls and once a year in person (with reimbursement based on SSCA bylaws and policy guidelines) in St. Augustine, FL after the general meeting. Any member (Commodore, Cruiser or Associate) can consider joining the board regardless of which sea he/she sails or home port location as long as he/she communicates regularly. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to expand their involvement in SSCA as well as gain experience on a not-for-profit board.
Apply online. All applications will be forwarded to the Nominating Committee for review. There are three board positions available. The Board of Directors will then approve the slate, as presented by the Nominating Committee, and voting will open in July. Newly elected board members will take office at the Annual General Meeting on November 12, 2022 in St. Augustine, FL.
