Join us for an interactive session with Seven Seas Cruising Association. This is a series of three informational webinars to help our cruising audience with the process of understanding sails, selection of new sails, materials/the industry, design and care. Join SSCA member Leif DuVall and professional sailmaker, Jerry Latell, as they share this effort, al la 2021. Jerry Latell has Latell Sailmakers & Evolution Sails Chesapeake Bay, Deltaville and Hampton, Virginia. In this second webinar of the series, function & design will be covered-- monohulls & cats, rigs and sail options, sail controls, and reefing. A broad set of topics with big picture ideas to get sailors thinking. Boats have changed a lot over the years. A modern cat or monohull is very different than what the same manufacturers offered 20 years ago. Rigs and how sails are handled is a big part of the shift, along with hull shapes and deck layouts.
