The 2026 Coho Ho Ho fleet continues its southbound migration along the U.S. Pacific Coast, with boats now spread from the waters south of Cape Flattery to the Monterey Bay area.
Based on the latest reports posted in the Coho Ho Ho Fleet WhatsApp chat, the leading boats have reached the Santa Cruz–Monterey area, while others continue south from Washington, Oregon and Northern California.
Xena and Saoirse departed Santa Cruz on September 17, heading toward Monterey. Dragonfly remained in Santa Cruz, with plans to depart for Monterey on the afternoon of September 18.
Tookish was at Half Moon Bay and considering a September 18 move toward either Santa Cruz or Monterey.
Farther north, Tomten was south of Fort Bragg/Noyo, motor-sailing toward the San Francisco area. Moonrise Kingdom reported approximately 40–50 nautical miles northwest of Cape Mendocino and continuing south.
The northern portion of the fleet was represented by Somerled, which reported passing Cape Flattery at 13:25 on September 17, and Fair Isle, approximately 65 nautical miles southwest of Cape Flattery and heading south offshore.
Several boats have been staging in the San Francisco Bay area. Confetti moved from Richmond Yacht Club toward Sausalito/Clipper Marina and was waiting for a suitable weather window before continuing south.
The latest WhatsApp positions located for ResilienSEA, Kristian and Aquarius placed them in the San Francisco Bay area.
Lagertha remained in Port Townsend. Its 2026 southbound voyage has been cancelled while engine and repower issues are resolved.
The Fleet Picture
The fleet is now stretched across a long section of the Pacific Coast.
Somerled and Fair Isle form the northern group after clearing Cape Flattery. Moonrise Kingdom is approaching the Cape Mendocino sector, with Tomten farther south and moving toward San Francisco.
Several boats are concentrated around San Francisco Bay, Tookish is at Half Moon Bay, and the leading boats have reached the Santa Cruz–Monterey area.
The staggered progress reflects one of the fundamentals of the Coho Ho Ho: each skipper and crew makes their own decisions about departure timing, weather windows and safe harbor stops as they work their way south.
