SSCA Islesboro ME Gam
About this event
SSCA Islesboro GAM Returns to Maine
After a 25 year break, in 2025 Dick and Kathy de Grasse hosted an informal SSCA/OCC BYOB GAM at their waterfront home on Broad Cove, Islesboro, Maine. And they are continuing that wonderful rekindled tradition this year.
After sailing around the Atlantic to Europe and throughout the Caribbean for 20+ years on their Tartan 34’ ENDEAVOUR, Richard and Kathy have retired to their waterfront home on Broad Cove, Islesboro, Maine. The GAMS of years past were so successful – 97 boats anchored all over Gilkey Harbor during the last Gam of 1997 – that Dick and Kathy, with the help of their son, Scott, and his partner, Nita, decided to continue the tradition. It is a BYOB affair, and we will have port-o-potties available, as well as tents and tables.
Last year, and we expect this year, Scott’s boat, KATARA, will be anchored in the sheltered Broad Cove at 44deg, 16.945’N, 68deg, 55.914’W. The holding is mud but one enjoys a 12’ tide. You can tie up dinghies on the beach in front of the house, or at the dock at the Islesboro Ferry landing. The walk to the house (3rd drive on the right) is about half a mile. Feel free to call the house 207.734.6948, or Nita’s cell 802.424.6131 if you need help and someone will be along to fetch you.
We will ask for registration for a headcount nearer the time.
