SSCA Partners with Hope Fleet to Support Hurricane Beryl Relief Efforts

SSCA recently partnered with Hopefleet.org as a Clean Wake project to support the islands affected by Hurricane Beryl. From Trinidad with Jesse James and the many cruisers there, to T&T government support and donors--they have stepped up to send a fleet of boats to Carriacou, Canouan, and Union Island. From points north, boats are stopping in St. Lucia, where Sea of Hope Ministries and Red Cross have donations. Hopefleet.org has really done the heavy lifting, with setting up donations, linking boats, manifest creation to make gov happy, and providing insurance. They are the logistics arm of the effort. SSCA is providing the network of contacts through WhatsApp, SSCA International Cruising Station Hosts (CSH) group which is used for coordination; we are also mentors and following all the activities. Grenada's and Trinidad CSH hosts, Lynn and Jesse have done a tremendous job, and we will be adding Kimberly Beckman (St Lucia) and Heather Grant (Erika's Yacht Agents for Bequia Island) next. A new boat, Flying Fish, has stepped up in Union, and is really running the marine support for Hope Fleet/SSCA. SSCA is acting as advisory and mentor, linking and connecting appropriate assets to Hope Fleet or just passing on messages. It’s a team effort.
