Lithium Ion batteris

Lithium Ion batteris

Does anyone have any recent experience with a lithium battery replacement?

I'm thinking of replacing 4 6V golf cart batteries with 2 100 Ah lithium batteries.
Wondering if anyone has and what the results were.

We're knee deep in replacement. It's been about a month-long process so far because we're changing over from all lead to a mix (lead starter and lithium house). Can't yet report on the results other than some additional gray hair. :)

According to all the conflicting battery and system vendors, they only thing they can agree on is that you can't just replace the batteries. If you install lithium batteries of any type (LiFEPO4 being the least powerful but safest) you need to consider an expensive, or complex, battery management system. To balance the cells (or not) to charge optimally (or not) and to get hte best use out of them. If you've been looking online you may already have gotten a big headache from all the conflicting information from all concerned parties. And the few folks that have put heavy use on custom systems, and loved them.
It makes me think of going to a steakhouse, and then the maitre d' takes you out to the corral and says "Which cow would you like?" Not always so simple.(G)
