Questions, Discussions and Opinions about Types of Boats/Suitability for Cruising

Columbia 40, 1964

I have a 1964 Columbia 40, I have been trying to get information on this boat. My hull number is 802 which I find difficult to surmise since only about 55 were made! I have read little history about these Columbia's and even little on the build of them, such as the fuel tanks, water tanks and location of these items! Nothing seems to be accessible! I was wondering about a little history of my Columbia! Where it was made the owners, things of that sort! Hopefully some will know something! Thank you for you time and efforts!

Have you asked this question on the Columbia owners website (

I checked and the website is still up, but I don't know if there is any activity there. I owned a Columbia years ago, and the owners were very active then. I think there was also an email list for Columbia on
