About the Speakers

Keith Davie and Nicki Dunbar returned to their home port in Rockland, Maine in June 2021, having completed a 4-season, 4800nm transit of the ICW, from Maine to the Dry Tortugas of Florida and back. Although currently Cruisers Living on Dirt in Rockland, when afloat they live aboard Sionna, a 1963 Triangle 32 center-cockpit ketch. They claim the unusual distinction of having anchored the full length of the ICW, Keys, and much of the Gulf coast of Florida without dragging, and only gently touching bottom once, in the NJICW.

Dick and Moira Bentzel have been sailing for almost 30 years starting on Great Pond in central Maine and then from their homeport of Rockland in Penobscot Bay. They have sailed over 35,000nm cruising the east coast of US, Canadian maritimes, Bahamas, Bermuda, the eastern and western Caribbean and completed 2 Atlantic crossings. Both are SSCA Commodores since 2009 and have recently retired as the Regional Rear Commodores NE USA and Atlantic Canada for the OCC. Future cruising plans include a passage to Nova Scotia/Newfoundland.

Deb Rapp has been sailing for 45 years. Her background is in racing for 35 years in the Great Lakes (and Antigua).  She helped create the Women's Racing Program in the 80's, and coached men & women in racing in Lake Erie.  John Rapp was a pilot and a power boater with extensive cruising experience when they met in 2011 and after their wedding, they bought their cruising boat in Antigua and have completed 25,000 NM from Grenada to Newfoundland, completing the Great Loop by way of Cuba and Haiti. They have been members of SSCA since 2015, also OCC, Salty Dawgs, and America's Great Loop Cruisers' Assoc. and GLCC Great Lakes Cruising Club.  They have done approximately a dozen presentations over the last 7 years for various sailing organizations throughout the US. They are headed to the Azores and Europe this June.
